STAR XVI

STAR XVI - to begin again

Elia struggles to fit in and escapes to sea by joining the whaling vessel STAR XVI. Through this journey into an unknown and turbulent landscape, they confront their own fears, imaginings, and expectations of the world around them. As the physical voyage unfolds, so too does the inner landscape — a journey of self-discovery where the right to one’s place in the world becomes clearer.

STAR XVI is a Nordic collaboration developed in Norway and Iceland, inspired by a historical whaling ship operating along the Icelandic coast. Blending movement, sound, and objects, the solo performance explores identity, belonging, and gender roles, set against the backdrop of a maritime environment.
